Wayfarer is our attempt at the opposite: destination guides worth reading before you book anything, and a planning tool that saves you time instead of adding another browser tab to your research pile.

What's here

Wayfarer is three things working together:

• A destinations catalog — real places with real detail: region, country, and when to actually go.
• A set of travel guides — day-by-day itineraries, packing advice, and “best of” lists tied to specific destinations, written with practical detail instead of generic filler.
• An AI itinerary planner — tell it a destination, how many days you have, your travel style, and your budget, and it drafts a full day-by-day plan in under a minute.

How we research and maintain our guides

Every destination and guide on Wayfarer is researched and written before it's published — we don't auto-generate catalog or blog content. We'd rather publish fewer places well than pad the catalog with thin pages that don't tell you anything useful.

We favor specific, checkable detail — named neighborhoods, actual trail distances, real price ranges — over generic superlatives, since that's the kind of thing that's actually useful when you're planning. Guides are written and edited in-house, not outsourced to a content mill.

Travel information goes stale: prices rise, seasons shift, places close. When we learn something in a guide is out of date, we fix it. The fastest way for that to happen is for a reader to tell us — flag anything that looks wrong and we'll look into it.

About the AI planner

The itinerary planner is genuinely AI-generated — it uses Anthropic's Claude to turn your destination, trip length, travel style, and budget into a day-by-day plan, and we think that's worth being upfront about rather than pretending a person wrote each one by hand.

Treat what it generates as a strong first draft, not a guarantee: opening hours, prices, and availability change, so it's worth double-checking the specifics for anything you plan to book. It's built to save you the first few hours of research, not replace your own judgment about the trip.
