2 Days in Chefchaouen: A Complete Itinerary

Two days is enough to see Chefchaouen properly and experience the blue medina in both its busiest and quietest hours.

Day 1: Arrival and the medina

Spend the afternoon simply wandering the blue-washed medina streets without a fixed plan — this is genuinely the point of a Chefchaouen visit. Settle into Plaza Uta el-Hammam for a meal, and visit the Chefchaouen Kasbah, the small fortress and museum bordering the square.

Day 2: Spanish Mosque and the waterfall

Walk up to the Spanish Mosque in the late afternoon for a wide view over the blue rooftops, timed for sunset if the weather cooperates. Earlier in the day, walk to Ras El Maa, the small waterfall at the medina's edge, a popular and easy local gathering spot.

Getting around

The town is small enough to cover entirely on foot; expect steep streets throughout.
