4 Days in Dubrovnik: A Complete Itinerary
Four days covers Dubrovnik's Old Town, the City Walls, Mount Srd, and an island day trip without over-scheduling any single day around the summer heat.
Day 1: Old Town core
Enter through Pile Gate and walk the Stradun, Dubrovnik's main limestone-paved street, before exploring the Rector's Palace and Cathedral area. Spend the afternoon around the Old Town Harbor, and catch sunset from a harborside spot.
Day 2: City Walls and Fort Lovrijenac
Walk the full City Walls loop as early in the morning as you can manage, both for the light and to beat the day's cruise crowds. In the afternoon, visit Fort Lovrijenac just outside the western walls.
Day 3: Mount Srd and Lokrum
Take the cable car up Mount Srd in the morning for the panoramic view over the Old Town and coast. In the afternoon, take a short boat from the Old Town harbor to Lokrum Island for swimming and a walk through its forest.
Day 4: Elaphiti Islands day trip
Catch a morning ferry from Gruz to Kolocep, Lopud, or Sipan for a slower, far less touristy day among the same Adriatic scenery, minus the crowds.
Getting around
The Old Town itself is fully pedestrian; Libertas buses reach Gruz, Lapad, and Babin Kuk, and ferries from Gruz cover the Elaphiti Islands.
What to pack
Sturdy, grippy shoes for the Walls and marble streets, plus a swimsuit for Lokrum or the islands — see our [[link:/blog/dubrovnik-travel-guide|Dubrovnik travel guide]] for the fuller packing breakdown and more on choosing where to stay.
